So reading the meeting minutes for the next year we find a much clearer statement.
TRANSCRIPT OF PUBLIC RECORD METHUEN SCHOOL COMMITTEE MEETING at 7:00 pm duly posted for Monday May 11,2009

6. New Business (first read)
a. School Choice Participation – Vote

MOTION BY: Mr. Vogler seconded by Mr. Kazanjian to accept the Superintendent’s choice not to participate

I noted that this was a first read. That means that it must have a second read to become approved.
I was unable to find the second read on this measure. Again I ask, did we accept this or not?

Almost as quickly as this was published we received a Nor'Easter that soaked us for three (3) straight days. Again the Spicket rose. Again a new high water record. I also finally noticed that the USGS and the National Weather Service list differing heights for flood stage. The Spicket has crested and is now slowly receding. Here is the updated Crest History.
Historical Crests
(1) 12.14 ft on 05/16/2006
Major Flood Stage:12 ft
Moderate Flood Stage:10 ft
(2) 9.86 ft on 3/16/2010
(3) 9.07 ft on 03/24/2001
(4) 9.04 ft on 04/18/2007
National Weather service Flood Stae:9 ft
(5) 8.83 ft on 04/03/2004
(6) 8.53 ft on 02/27/2010
USGS Flood Stage:8 ft
(7) 7.54 ft on 05/27/2005
(8) 7.52 ft on 10/16/2005
(9) 7.02 ft on 03/09/2008
(10) 6.53 ft on 03/23/2003
Action Stage:6.5
(11) 5.70 ft on 05/18/2002

The Mayor's Chief of Staff has stopped responding to my email requests for updates on this and other requests.
I ran into him at the Budget Forum held at Manns Orchard on Tuesday.
He said he is still working on this but the Public Works Director, who is only one floor down, has not gotten back to him.
I have tried to avoid using the alternative methods, which require filing with the State for information but they are forcing my hand.

I don't have a good feeling about this.
The response that I got today from City hall is as follows;
My request has been forwarded to the DPW as they keep track of gas usage.
The person who received my request will be out until next Tuesday.
Stay tuned.

I requested a copy of all the reports that are requested in the Executive order.
I made the request on December 29, 2009. excluding weekends and holidays, the information or an explanation is due today.

I requested an update from the City.
The request was transferred to the mayors office. That is the correct place.
They have not responded to my email request as yet.

Will keep you posted.

In the mean time check out what the do in Colorado. They actually post all their vehicles and the miles logged against them for all the residents to view. Not real time data but far and away ahead of us.
See this website for the list:

oh jack, i never get anything from the city first...
http://www.eagletribune.com/archivesearch/local_story_001001053.html
Apparently they just keep re-editing the same original post as I can't find the one that ran on Friday. Methuen's notice is slipped at the bottom.

I do agree that for general info the city site is a bit convoluted and could use some adjusting.

In today's Eagle Tribune under "Don't Print that" is the following article
"In the running

Methuen City Councilor Deborah Quinn just lost her bid for re-election, but she's not about to walk away from politics.

She said on Methuen Community Television's "Politically Active" show last week that she is interested in running for either mayor after Manzi finishes his third and final term in two years, or state representative against incumbent Linda Dean Campbell next year.

When she was asked which seat she wants more, everything Quinn said was about going into the State House, not City Hall."
